Apparently Mary was the second born and previously unknown child of
Thomas Wannall. The information we have on Mary came from a descendant
of her brother, Charles Pascal Wannall. Mary's grave is located at
Oakhill Cemetery in Washington, DC. The cemetery's, website lists
her as both Mary A. and Mary Ann. Reportedly Mary worked as a Matron
at a Protestant Orphan Asylum in Washington and lived with her brother
Charles P. Wannall. Her large tombstone, pictured in the gallery
photos, reads:
