for Charles P. Wannall's birth have listed it as 1811, 1814 and 1816, but
according to a descendent Charles was born in 1808 and is presently interred
in the Oakhill Cemetery in Washington DC. Hopefully we will be able
to visit the cemetery and learn more about when he passed away.. His marriage
to Mary Miles was listed in the official Washington, DC, marriage records
of 1826 to 1850, but apparently Mary died childless in 1848, and Charles
remarried almost exactly six years later. His second wife, also named
Mary, bore him the one offspring, daughter Lizzy. Charles P. was
a grocer on 9th Street at I Street in Washington, DC in 1843. Obituaries
for immediate family members indicate that Charles P. lived at 928 9th
Street, Washington, DC (corner of New York Avenue and 9th Street) as late
as June 26, 1889.
