have no way of knowing for sure the actual year in which Charles P. Wannall
was born. Reports have given it as 1811, 1814 and 1816, and we selected
the middle date. His marriage to Mary Miles was listed in the official
Washington, DC, marriage records of 1826 to 1850. Charles P. was
a grocer on 9th Street at I Street in Washington, DC in 1843. Obituaries
for immediate family members indicate that Charles P. lived at 928 9th
Street, Washington, DC (corner of New York Avenue and 9th Street) as late
as June 26, 1889. His wife Mary died on June 20, 1848.
