| Lizzy's great grandson Roger Siedel provided us with information regarding
Lizzy and her family, and in the process filled in many holes in our early
family history. Lizzy was the only child of Charles Pascal Wannall
and his second wife Mary Holliingshead. Lizzy and Edward Goodrich
were wed at the 4th Presbyterian Church by Rev. J. F. Kelly and produced
the one son, Charles Edward. (Charles Edward's descendents are reported
on his profile page.) Lizzy's husband Edward Payson Goodrich, the
son of Josiah Goodrich and Harriet Eliot Goodrich, was born on September
10, 1851 and died on June 4, 1918. Lizzy and Edward are buried
next to Lizzy's parents Charles and Mary in Oakhill Cemetary in Washington,
DC. The Family Photos
link below shows the original pictures submitted to us by Roger Siedel.
On April 27, 2009 Roger sent us pictures of Lizzy's obiturary, and we
learned more about Lizzy. According to the obit, one of her fondest
memories occurred when she was 10 years old. Lizzy attended a reception
at the White House celebrating the end of the Civil War and received a
kiss from President Abraham Lincoln. Lizzy was a pianist and a member
of both the Society of Natives and the Covenant First Presbyterian Church.
We added pictures of the obiturary to the Family
Photos link.
