| Walter Allen Wannall's son's stepdaughter, Mary Bone, told us that
Walter served a tour of duty as an infantryman in Cuba during the Spanish
American War, then settled in the Washington area where he worked as a
house painter. His only surviving child was William Howard, who himself
had one child, William Howard Jr., who had one child William Howard III.
(Thankfully, William Howard III is now living in the Maryland suburbs of
Washington, DC, and already has produced three healthy offspring.)
Walter Allen died of tuberculosis at the age of 55.
