| Henry Clay and his brother William Tell Wannall married the Downey
sisters, and all four apparently lived in proximity in Washington, DC,
during most of their lives. The 1888 Directory of the District of Columbia
lists Henry as being employed as a driver and residing at 817 H Street,
NE. Later census documents indicate that for at least some of his
life he was a police officer in Washington. If so, he probably worked closely
with his brother William, also a DC policeman. The Glenwood Cemetery
records say Henry was interred on March 31, 1939, having died at the age
of 79.
