| Bill Wannall is
retired from a career in the U.S. Senate, and is living with his wife Dot
in Tallahassee, FL. In 1974, President Richard Nixon resigned the Presidency
of the United States. Had he stayed in office one more day, his summons
to appear before the Senate would have been delivered by Bill Wannall,
who at the time was Sergeant at Arms of the Senate. As Sergeant at
Arms, Bill had occasion to escort and befriend many national and international
dignitaries. His den is decorated with pictures of him with historical
figures including every U.S. president since John Kennedy, famous members
of Congress, and world leaders such as Golda Meir, Anwar Sadat, and others.
