| Since our first Wannall.com "announcement" page appeared in May of 1999 we have continued to make exciting additions to the web site. The chart below chronicles our progress. Whenever we add new pages or update information on existing pages, we record our changes here, so we suggest you monitor this page on a regular basis to keep abreast of our latest findings. |

| April 17, 2008 | Melissa Lou Ann Wannall Rose (index 1987-01) is at it again. She became a mom for the second time in December with the arrival of Annabelle Lynne Rose (new index 2007-01). Melissa also sent us new pictures of her family, and updates and pictures for her brother, William Keith Wannall Jr. (index 1984-03) who was married earlier this year to new wannall.com member Ballentina Marie Blackburn Wannall (index 1984-04). New pictures include profile pictures for Annabelle as well as Keith, Ballentina, and their children Jasmine Marie Wannall (index 2001-02) and Justin William Keith Wannall III (index 2004-03). We added and linked a page to show Keith's family picture. |
| July 29, 2007 | Another very old photograph has managed to find its way to us. It is a picture of Rebecca Reeves Wannall (Index 1889-01) as a child. You can view an editied version on Rebecca's gallery page and, if you like, click on the edited version to view the original. |
| April 22, 2007 | We have another birth to report, although as usual somewhat belated. Valeri Jill Wannall (Index 1975-02) brought into our family her second son Blake Paxton (index 2005-03) in June of 2005. We have added a page for Blake, a link in his mother's page, and updated our Family Tree. |
| March 25, 2007 | Melissa Lou Ann Wannall Rose (Index 1987-01) sent us some family photos which we added as links to her profile page and that of her daughter Makinnley Raeann Rose (index 2005-02). We also fixed a broken link on Melissa's page. |
| February 18, 2007 | It has been about nineteen
months since our last significant update. This is for two reasons. First,
information does not arrive as quickly as it once did, although we have
been adding and subtracting family members the whole time. Second, your
humble host has been battling a rather nasty bout with cancer (we are just
fine now, thank you.) But we are back in business for the time being, so
let's get started.
Once again it is our sad duty to report the passing of another beloved family member. Bernard William Wannall (index 1936-02) passed away in Tulsa, OK on October 15, 2006. He had been residing in Tulsa with his wife Bonnie Kay Banks Wannall (index 1942-01). We extend our sympathies to his family. Bernard was fortunate to see his family expand before his death. His grandson, William Keith Wannall Jr. (index 1984-03) and his wife Ballentine had son, Justin William Keith Wannall III (index 2004-03) on July 15, 2004. Bernard's granddaughter, Melissa Lou Ann Wannall (index 1987-01) married Robbie Lee Rose on July 22, 2006, and had daughter Makinnley Raeann Rose (index 2005-02) on August 8, 2005. Also new to the Wannall clan is Eliana Grace Wannall (index 2005-01), new daughter of Douglas Keith Wannall (index 1970-01) and Nyree Dawn Kapalow-Cohen Wannall (index 1975-04). We made the appropriate additions to our Index of Names and the Family Tree. Finally we are in the process of trying to link another "unofficial" branch to our tree and pages: the family of Jean Louise Thompson Kamper, who was raised by Rebecca Reeves Wannall (index 1889-01) and Walter Raymond Wannall (index 1888-01). Details will follow, so stay tuned! |
| July 17, 2005 | We continue to fill in the blanks on our profile pages and family tree as more and more cooperative family members discover and contact us. This week we learned more about the family of Robert Lucien Wannall (index 1926-01) and his wife Helen Connolly Wannall Shipe (formally Helen Conaley Wannall, index 1926-02). We had the names of their sons wrong, and we had no information on their grandchildren. We fixed that with the addition of profile pages for sons Robert Joseph Wannall (index 1954-01), Richard Patrick Wannall (index 1956-01), Richard's wife Susan Adelaide Wannall (index 1956-02), Robert's children Debra Waters Wannall (index 1954-01a) and Carissa Wannall (index 1954-01b), and Richard & Susan's sons Richard Patrick Wannall Jr. (index 1991-03) and Joseph Eugene Wannall (index 1995-02). We added the new additions to our Names Index and Family Tree. |
| October 24, 2004 | Many amateur and professional genealogists use the Internet, and this week one of them, a great niece of a Wannall, happened upon our humble site. The result was a brand new gallery page and profile picture for Norma Marion Thomasson Wannall (index 1898-03). Once again, it is the contributions of our visitors that keep our pages alive, interesting and expanding. |
| October 16, 2004 | We added a profile picture for Jamie Terina Wannall Davis (index 1984-02) that we found on the internet. Jamie verified it was her high school picture. |
| June 6, 2004 | We are proud to announce another wedding in the family. We heard from Jamie Terina Wannall (index 1984-02), soon to be Jamie Terina Davis. We updated her page and those of her mother Cynthia Champagne Wannall (index 1961-01) and father John Richard Wannall (index 1962-01). We also made the appropriate adjustments on our Index of Names and on the Family Tree. Oh yes, and we added a beautiful portrait picture for beautiful new baby Wannall, Kaitlyn Reney (index 2004-01.) |
| May 29, 2004 | This week we were visited by a "surfing" Internet genealogist who filled in a few holes in the Smoot branch. We updated the profile pages of Mary Matilda Wannall Smoot (index 1852-01) and her daughter Emily Hunter Smoot May (index 1852-01a.) And we learned enough about her son Avery that we created a profile page for him (index 1852-01b.) All of this good stuff required an update to our Family Tree as well. |
| March 28, 2004 | Once again it is our sad duty to report the passing of another Wannall family icon. Frank Wannall Stones (index 1878-01a) died in his sleep this morning at the age of 99. Frank was one of the three original Wannall family genealogists and a major influence on this web site. It was Frank who provided us with the information, the pictures, and the family artifacts that helped us link the Washington, DC and Missouri branches of the family. We will all miss him. |
| March 7, 2004 | We have another new addition to the Wannall line. This week saw the arrival of Emily Grace West, the beautiful new daughter of Hillary Brooke Wannall West and Bryan Keith West. Baby, Mom, Dad and proud new grandparents are all doing well. |
| February 21, 2004 | We catalogued the rest of the Rebecca Collins contributions this week. We updated her profile (index 1927-01c) with her latest information including a nice profile picture, and added an interesting picture to the gallery of her uncle, James Wannall Jr. (gallery page 1932-01g1) We also identified the children and grandchildren in the picture on Dorris Wannall Collins' gallery page (1927-01g1.) |
| February 15, 2004 | Lots of things happening. First we heard from Victoria Wannall (index 1994-01) through her mother Mary Wannall (index 1967-05) with a progress report on the two of them and their family, father Richard Wannall (index 1967-01) and youngest daughter Elizabeth Wannall (index 1998-01.) Also the latest addition arrived last month. She is Kaitlyn Wannall (index 2004-01), brand new daughter of Douglas Wannall (index 1970-01) and Nyree Wannall (index 1975-04.) And our biggest contribution came from Rebecca Collins (index 1927-01c) who sent us over a dozen family photographs. We placed all the ones we could identify in the appropriate profile pages and galleries for James Raymond Wannall (index 1907-01), Alice Wannal (index 1907-02), Doris Wannall Collins (index 1927-01), Bessie Wannall (index 1907-03), Walter Robert Collins Jr (index 1927-01a), James Raymond Wannall Jr. (index 1932-01), Patricia Luber Wannall (index 1932-02), and M. Ruth Wannall (index 1936-01.) | September 6, 2003 | When it rains it pours! This week we heard from two Wannalls and updated nine profiles. On the Henry Clay line we learned that Kimberly Wannall (index 1975-01) married Mark Kovach in March of this year. Congrats to the newlyweds! Her sister, Hillary Wannall (index 1978-01) is expecting and due in February. Their grandparents, George Wannall (index 1919-01) and Vera Wannall (index 1919-02) recently celebrated their 61st anniversary, and we updated their pages as well. From Melissa LouAnn Wannall (index 1987-01) in Missouri we learned more about the descendants in Bernard Layton Wannall's second family. We updated our family tree, Melissa's profile page, and those of her father William Keith Wannall (index 1963-01), her mother Marena LouAnn Wannall (index 1963-02), her brother Samuel Guy Wannall (index 1992-03), and her niece Jasmin Marie Wannall (index 2001-02.) | August 16, 2003 | It is very rare anymore we get new information, however every once in a while an email comes our way. That's what happened this week when we learned a little more about Maxine Nellie Willkins Wannall (index 1916-02). Maxine becomes the first update for 2003. Hopefully she will not be the last. |
